LUK LAK

Came across this Michelin guided Lak Luk. Arrived for dinner and was welcomed by this pungent smell from a dish ordered by another table. Suspected some fermented ingredients used in cooking. We ordered 3 dishes (luckily). Grilled chicken was chewy and we suspected freshness doubtful or not well cooked. Informed the kitchen to grill it again. Same texture afterwards. Tasteless unless it’s eaten with chopped chilli or some fermented paste. Then came the pork wrapped prawn roll. The only dish edible maybe 5/10 kind of taste. Lastly came its vegetarian spring roll. Made of carrots, radish and some mangoes. Awful. Tasteless. First and last time eating at this restaurant. Never understand how Michelin can even recognize such awful food experience.

The fish is nice, but the beef stew is too chewy. Maybe I didn’t order the right dish, if I’m nearby again, I may go try again.

A friend recommended this place and it was actually so good! We came around 11 AM and there was no queue at all. I didn’t even realize it was Michelin-recognized until we got there 😆 We had the bun cha, lotus leaf sticky rice with grilled chicken ,and the sweet & sour soup with pineapple. Everything tasted really fresh and refreshing, and we ended up finishing every single dish. Would definitely come back!

Avoid this place at all cost. Once enter the restaurant smell like sewage (due to the fermented bamboo shoot ). The food is ridiculously lousy and serve cold. The duck platter is a shame - hard and chewy. The dessert is horrid - the texture is like glue. I wonder how did it ever get into Michelin guide.

Maybe its more geared toward foreign tourists than to Vietnamese ones, its kind of underwhelming to me.

Got tricked into dining here by Gemini. Ordered 4 dishes and didn’t finish a single one. Cola is best thing on menu

We’re Vietnamese Americans visiting Vietnam /Da Nang for the first time (we grew up eating Viet food cooked by mom/grandma, and eaten a lot of good, average & pricey, Viet places in the dense Viet areas in San Jose & Los Angeles). We had to try Luk Lak given it was Michelin mentioned last 3 years, and was recommend by a local & a tourist friend. 4-5* space, staff/service. Food 3-4* - think of high end, elevated Vietnamese food that you might get at An Com An Ca in BKK, or Slanted Door in San Francisco. Unfortunately, the authentic bold Vietnamese flavors are missing/pretty muted/watered down/light here at Luk Lak. While we would be excited to eat again at those other places, neither of us would prioritize a second visit to Luk Lak. However, we can appreciate why others might like it, especially non-Vietnamese who don’t like or didn’t grow up eating Vietnamese dishes with bold flavors (most customers we saw where Koreans, Chinese, other tourists). Definitely worth a try if you’re in town and want a nicer place to eat.

Out of all the restaurants I tried in Da Nang, this is the ONLY one I’d gladly revisit! 🙌❤️ Here’s the breakdown: 🦀 Soft-Shell Crab Rice Paper Roll: The moment it arrived, I knew this place was the real deal! 💥 🍚 Caviar Sauce Dish: Absolute rice thief! Tasted a bit like Taiwanese Lu Rou Fan—insanely delicious! 🤤🔥 🐟 Grilled Eel: Perfectly crispy on the outside, rich and super flavorful! 🥢✨ 🦆 Duck Platter: Supposedly their signature, but honestly NOT recommended. Portions are huge, but the meat was way too tough to chew! ❌🦷 🍷 Wine Selection: Surprised to find a really decent French bottle here at a great value! 🥂🍾 🍨 Dessert: Ordered by my friend and definitely not for me... texture felt a bit like snot. 😅👃

Terrible

Loud and full of locals which is always a great sign when searching for a dinner spot. The atmosphere was loud and if we could all speak Vietnamese might have been able to fluently order or engage in the festivities which is probably more of an us problem than the restaurant. The service was slow at times hence the down the vote on score from being a perfect 5 star but I'm being tough here as the food qas exceptional and we fully and I mean fully fed and watered 6 people for under 3 million VND. Great experience but again service could have been slightly better but that could have been because we didn't speak the language and they were slightly busy.

후기를 보면 굉장히 좋지 않은 이야기가 많아서 망설이다가 방문했어요. 막상 가보니 분위기도 너무 좋고, 특히 분짜의 맛과 향이 예술의 경지에 이르렀다는 것을 확인했습니다. 솟방도 양이 작은것 같았지만 내용물이 튼실해서 반미와 맛있게 먹었어요. 직원분들도 너무 친절해서 좋은 분위기에 저렴하고 맛있는 음식을 먹을수 있어서 너무 좋았습니다. 추천 드립니다.

Quán thiết kế rất Việt, có gu. Mình dắt bạn (nước ngoài) đến ăn rất khoái. Tuy nhiên khẩu vị có vài món local chưa được (nguyên liệu local gà/cá) Dịch vụ ok nhiệt tình mến khách

이곳은 저의가족들이 1주일에 1번정도 아침식사 하는곳인데 분짜하노이 먹으로 옵니다 일단 식당이 깔끔하고 음식이 맛깔스럽습니다 다른식당에 비해 약간 비싸지만 그만큼 음식이 좋아요.

A Michelin restaurant with very poor service. I arrived at the restaurant at 8 AM and ordered one hot black filter coffee and one coconut coffee, but by the time I finished breakfast at 8:30 AM, the coffee still hadn't been brought out. Although I reminded the staff many times to bring the coffee, the server said the barista had some business this morning and hadn't arrived yet, so there was no coffee 😅. I didn't expect a branded restaurant to have such terrible service. The coffee beans were slightly burnt, so it tasted bitter and not aromatic; the coconut coffee was passable. Regarding the food at the restaurant: I ordered one bowl of snail vermicelli from Làng Khương Thượng for 90k/bowl and one bowl of Hanoi fish vermicelli with grilled fish cake for 85k/bowl. The snail vermicelli bowl was truly disappointing—a 90k bowl with only 6 small snails and one slice of tomato, nothing else. I was really surprised, and it's not worth the 90k price, let alone being a Michelin restaurant 😂. As for the Hanoi fish vermicelli with grilled fish cake at 85k/bowl, it had 3 slices of fish cake with crispy fried fish dipped in sweet fish sauce. This bowl was acceptable and had a unique taste, but it's not worthy of being called Michelin. The restaurant had only a few customers, but the staff were numerous—actually more than the customers—yet the service was slow and unprofessional. Not up to Michelin standards.
