We had the most wonderful experience with Kim from Gung Café in Hoi An, and I truly can’t recommend her highly enough. One of the most special parts of our time with Kim was the cooking experience she created for us right in our own Airbnb kitchen. She first took us through the local markets, patiently explaining the different vegetables, herbs, and fresh produce, giving us a real insight into everyday Vietnamese life. It made everything feel authentic and deeply personal. Back at our place, she guided us step by step as we cooked together — teaching us how to make a beautiful, fragrant pho along with some of her family’s favorite dishes, including a delicious baby pumpkin stir fry. It felt less like a class and more like being welcomed into her world and her family traditions. Kim also generously spent around three hours accompanying me on a photography tour, which turned out to be truly unforgettable. She showed me where locals actually eat, sit, and relax — places I would never have discovered on my own. We wandered through local markets and hidden corners, completely away from the usual tourist trail. It was original, eye-opening, and full of character. Kim’s excitement and genuine love for sharing her culture made the whole experience incredibly special. Her English is very good, making everything easy, relaxed, and enjoyable throughout. And her Gung Café itself reflects exactly who she is — tastefully done, full of charm, and filled with her personality. You can feel the care and heart that has gone into it. Kim and her husband are truly warm, hardworking, salt-of-the-earth people who make you feel welcome from the moment you meet them. Thank you, Kim, for your kindness, generosity, and for sharing so much of yourselves with us. This wasn’t just an experience — it was a memory we’ll carry with us for a long time.

We love this café / restaurant. The food is delicious, and the coffee and juices are absoluetly the best. Very nice and cozy place, love the beautiful decoration of this place and of course the owner make you feel more than welcome, very sympathetic ❤️

Absolutely the best coconut coffee I had in Vietnam! The food was delicious and the service was great. I seriously considered flying back from Saigon just to get the coconut coffee here again.

The best place in Hoi An for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Kim and her husband are incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious, with generous portions, and the banana pancake is definitely a must-try. I loved coming here every day the atmosphere is so peaceful, pleasant, and relaxing. A truly lovely place that made my time in Hoi An even more special.
