We were invited to a shibari workshop at the yoga studio 🧶 We also enjoyed drinks in the cafe on the ground floor. This place is very cozy and well equipped (as a yoga room) with mats, aerial yoga hammockand; and local chunky cat adds a special charm to this studio ☺️

It is a cozy, small place to practise yoga, and the teachers clearly have solid technical knowledge. However, some teachers could benefit from reading the room a little more, particularly when it comes to their tone, volume of voice, and the amount of instructions. Sometimes there is simply too much explanation about why we are doing this or that. A little guidance is helpful, but overinstructing can pull you out of the practice and make it difficult to stay focused. There needs to be a balance. Relax, slow down, breathe, soften your voice, and find a rhythm between yourself and your students. Rushing through instructions while throwing in too much technical information can take away from the motivation to explore and connect with yourself through the practice. At times, it feels more like I'm attending a teacher-training course than a yoga class. Let your students to stay a little longer (max a minute) in certain asana. One of the teachers seems relatively new to teaching, so she may naturally feel less confident or a little nervous, which is completely understandable. But this is yoga; walk into the room as a student as well as a teacher, enjoy the process, and let the practice breathe. There is no need to rush through a long list of asanas and transitions. Sometimes, less instruction and more presence can create a much deeper practice. On that note, the schedule should also be more transparent in terms of who teaches each class. Less is more!
